My art, your art: All of my pieces can be customized to the client' s liking. That is, the colors can be chosen, the borders and patterns and the size of the designs. Even though the real Bauern style follows some typical color hues, it can all be adjusted to match the client's style and colors of their homes.I use milk paints and acrylics as a way to preserve the quality of the product and also to make it as authentic as possible as to when Bauern started. It also allows me to be consistent with my "green" way of life, since these paints don't harm the environment.

About the artist - Carmen Villaseca-Crosbie:I was born in Chile a few decades ago with Heaven's plan of marrying a wonderful man and mothering two amazing boys. My life is happily spent working, volunteering and chauffering my children around the world. Every now and then I am awarded some "creative" time which I dedicate to paint anything that crosses my path. I also enjoy quilting and reading as well as cooking and socializing. Life is good...Influence: Most of my pieces are painted using the Bauernmalerei technique, with roots in Austria and Germany. I added a little bit of Latin American spice to it to make it more unique.This technique was invented by farmers who wanted to bring old furniture back to life, using bright colors, flowers and fruits.I learned to paint Bauern by watching my mother and her friends in Chile when I was younger. I wanted to share this type of art with other people who might enjoy recycling their old furniture or adding some color to their homes.
